Chitungwiza Harmony Singers crowned Zimbabwe Community Choirs Champions for 2024 in the just ended TMFNCE which was organized by arts partners ZACMA & Tiro Mpane Foundation National Choir Eisteddfod. The eisteddfod had 10 participating choirs all from around Zimbabwe, mainly Harare and Bulawayo the two biggest Cities. Bulawayo hosted the Event and brought in 5 choirs. CHS will represent Zimbabwe in December were all the regions for TMNCE will have their final stand.

Despite CHS being victorious, the talk of the day was Sound of Joy Chorale who came second in the western piece and scooped third place on overall. This came as a surprise as over the years the community choirs National Festivals were mainly dominated by HPC, BC, GMC and CHS. It shows growth and potential for the choral music fraternity as well as a wakeup call for those who have been in the game for a while, having more competitive players in the game will ensure that no choir sleeps with their finger in the mouth (a Shona proverb).
All in all it was a well-organized event with loads of talent, the percentage scores speak for themselves. We hope to see more of these events especially being Zimbabwe driven and congratulations to all the participants for staging.
